Relationship Analyst, European Insurance Team recruitment

Position Description:

As part of continued expansion, we are currently seeking to recruit a Relationship Analyst to join our Global Relationship Group (GRG) in London. The successful candidate will be an integral member of the Pan-European Insurance team.

Commanding a thorough knowledge of our business, coupled with the interpersonal skills to deal effectively with clients, the successful candidate will:
* Work closely with all members of the team, on a portfolio of assigned accounts;
* Conduct analysis of client portfolios, initiate investigations, respond to inquiries on a wide variety of topics, participate in client meetings and perform other tasks as appropriate;
* Work with Relationship Managers to understand each client's long-term investment strategy and policy issues in order to service the client to the highest standard;
* Incorporate product knowledge, cultural awareness and business judgment to ensure clients are provided with the optimal mix of the firm's resources;
* Analyse performance data, investment characteristics and risk profiles of client portfolios;
* Support in the planning and preparation of client meetings;
* As required, meet with clients and consultants and manage any follow up correspondence;
* Coordinate appropriately all client transition events and new account set-ups;
* Ensure compliance with client guidelines and applicable regulations, in liaison with Legal and Compliance colleagues;
* Respond to all ad hoc client requests;
* Ensure the timely preparation of standard and customised client reports, including monthly and quarterly portfolio summaries and performance attribution analyses;
* Ensure that all client data is accurately captured and reflected via internal systems;
* Work on assigned client projects.

The successful candidate is likely to have a minimum of 5 years relevant professional experience, most likely gained within the Asset Management, Investment Consulting or Investment Banking industries. Experience of working with Insurance clients in either the UK or continental Europe is required. He/she must demonstrate an in depth knowledge of capital markets and/or investment products. Strong academic credentials are required. A relevant professional qualification, such as the CFA, or progress towards one, is preferred. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

This position will be carrying on Investment Business as defined under the Rules of the FSA, and as such the successful candidate will need to achieve threshold competence (as defined by the FSA) as a condition of employment in this role.
