Business Unit Information:
The private banking market unit within SEI seeks to partners with wealth advisory and wealth management firms to deliver services that enable the transformation of their business models.
The relationship management team is responsible for the management of the partnerships between SEI and it's client relationships, (forward thinking Independent Wealth Advisors, Private Banks and Private Client Investment Managers PCIMS) delivering SEI’s Global Wealth Services.
The GWS solution is a comprehensive set of services which includes the SEI Global Wealth Platform – (the client wealth management administration platform delivered with SEI’s operational services in an outsourced environment) and the SEI Asset Management Solutions the investment management services and client advice processes that enable wealth managers to meet client goals).
Key Objectives of the Role:
- Maintain and grow a healthy partnership between SEI and its clients that enables the client to achieve their business goals for the services provided by SEI and allows SEI to build profitable/recommended client relationships.
- Lead the implementation of the GWS solution within the client’s business to achieve the client’s business change objectives and assures SEI is positioned to effectively deliver the agreed services.
- Direct a virtual team throughout the SEI client experience in the delivery of business solutions, advice and relationship governance in the client’s organisation.
Responsibilities:
Pre-Sales:
- Support the sales team in developing commitment by prospects for the GWS value proposition; specifically the implementation and ongoing relationship management model.
Client Implementation:
- Work to transition the business relationship from the sales director to the RM by establishing executive relationships within the client firm and working to understand the key business change drivers leading to the implementation work.
- Develop a joint plan for the SEI client partnership that includes client business goals, the implementation milestones and any asset migration plans that may follow from the initial implementation.
- Establish and manage the SEI project team responsible for the implementation; Support the team in implementing the services within the client organisation and assuring SEI teams effectively transition the clients business into SEI’s operating model at live date.
Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain ongoing commitment to the partnership and GWS value proposition within client and SEI Stakeholders including managing the governance programme for the client partnership.
- Identify, develop and deliver on opportunities to grow the services delivered with the partnership.
- Develop and manage a shared plan to enable clients to achieve goals for the transformation of their business and lead the SEI change management effort to achieve the goals.
- Direct the SEI client experience by assuring appropriate resource alignment, effective delivery of services to SLA’s, leading key communications and acts as an escalation point for critical service delivery issues.
- Evaluate clients’ usage of SEI services to ensure they are maximising benefits, the services are evolving to meet client needs, and ensure critical issues are resolved effectively.
- Partner with the GWS solutions team to understand, communicate and manage client business requirements for new or enhanced services.
Team Management:
Recruit, motivate, manage and develop the team including:
- Conduct an annual review to assess individual performance against objectives set, identify strengths and development areas and set objectives/development opportunities over the coming year. This should be followed up with regular reviews to adjust /realign as appropriate.
- Handle any employee related issues (performance, grievance, disciplinary, sickness, etc) that may arise within the team in conjunction with HR.
- Ensure we recruit the best talent available outlining job specifications and conducting any briefing sessions/interviews/assessments/feedback, etc as required in conjunction with internal recruitment.
- Work with internal HR and recruitment to ensure continual development and retention of top talent within the team.
- All of the above must correspond and comply with relevant legislation in which the employee is based and company policy and procedures.
Other:
- Keep Current – (market conditions, regulation, SEI products and services, etc) and maintain ongoing and effective communication and alignment of these with client business practices.
- Maintenance and updating of internal systems/ data reference points in agreed format to ensure consistency and communication of relevant information within the team and ensure integrity of data.
• Any other ad-hoc projects as required.

- Adhere to all relevant FSA requirements and compliance.
Technical Capabilities/Skills Experience Required for the Role:
- Ideally degree educated, further study like an MBA would be advantageous but not essential.
- Significant wealth management or private banking industry knowledge. This should include the industry dynamics, business strategies, products and operating platforms.
- A proven track record in managing executive level relationships within a financial services and/or outsourcing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and lead a conceptual/solutions/complex services sales process to influence a buyer’s decision making process.
- Proven experience in managing organisational change and business process re-engineering projects.
- Solid experience leading a team.
- The ability to be credible in communications and influence senior internal and external stakeholders around business critical events and issues.
- Highly developed presentation and facilitation skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively.
