bRelationship Manager ' Student Operations
Position Summary
Reporting to the Sr. Director of System Relationship Management'IT, this leader is a member of the technology team for Laureate Higher Education Division, responsible for developing and implementing new and existing applications for our institutions of higher education.
This Manager is responsible for managing the continuous strategic and tactical initiatives associated with Laureate Student Services Application Portfolio. The Relationship Director position requires vision and execution focus to oversee the student information system, applications and services across multiple institutions. This position will guide the development and implementation of initiatives to improve service quality and cost effectiveness in a constantly changing and competitive marketplace.
This creative leader will plan and implement strategy for Banner, Laureate's Student Information System, including modeling of business requirements into Banner and ancillary applications, considering both short and long term implications. This Manager will serve as a technology champion for Banner to the operational teams that support the various universities. The primary goal is to drive sensible, supportable, student-centric solutions that provide for continuous improvement in the student experience across all Laureate institutions.
This position is one within a team of Relationship Director working for Global Product Services Technology group, each focused on a key business application working in concert to deliver the premier learning experience. The position is located in Baltimore, MD, and oversees technical and managerial resources in multiple locations within the US.
Major Responsibilities
- Direct and coordinate the management and implementation any Banner implementations/ modifications across multiple institutions.
- Participate in meetings where business processes, business requirements, operational requirements, performance objectives and development objectives are defined.
- Provide guidance to the business and project team with respect to feasibility, complexity, and high level of effort required to deliver solutions.
- Assist project management and program management personnel in incorporating development project plan into overall project plan.
- Ensure that customizations and integrations are designed in accordance with the agreed upon workplan and within Laureate standards.
- Advise team with architectural and application best practices.
- Lead and support developers and the user community by conceiving, proposing, and driving creative technical solutions to address and resolve current and future Banner needs.
- Direct ongoing system and methodology reviews to assist adoption of new or revised strategies.
- Determine appropriate improvements to reduce costs and enhance efficiency.
- Assist in requirements gathering to disseminate specifications to the development team. Attentive to requirement change and able to communicate appropriately to ensure deliverables are aligned with the stakeholder vision.
- Maintain professional contacts with other universities, research bodies, equipment manufacturers, and professional organizations concerning computer applications and best practices.
- Design, establish and maintain an organizational structure with staffing to effectively accomplish the organization's goals and objectives. To recruit, employ, train, supervise, and evaluate unit staff.
- Maintain a broad knowledge of state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

- A Minimum of 8 years of progressive IT experience, with a solid background of experience with Banner implementations and support.
- Experience administering, supporting, and enhancing Banner to support multiple institutions with differing needs.
- Fluency with two or more Banner modules.
- Five or more years experience leading technical teams with responsibility for quality of deliverables
- Knowledge of and insight into the unique challenges presented with distance learning.
- Hands-on experience with formal project management and software development lifecycle principles, with a track record of successful project delivery and knowledge project risks and mitigation strategies.
- An undergraduate degree, ideally in computer science or technology management, or a combination of education, experience, and technical certifications.

- Technical Knowledge: With experience as a developer, development manager, or technical project manager, you clearly understand multi-institution Banner environments, and are able to assist with the conception, proposal and execution of creative solutions to improve the user experience.
