Relationship Manager

You'll be responsible for maintaining and driving a portfolio of around 20 distressed client cases from a real estate or trading sector with the objective of working with clients to restore their borrowings so they can be returned back to mainstream banking.

The Global Restructuring Group, along with Non-Core and the Asset Protection Scheme, play an important part in managing major corporate clients across the globe who find themselves in financial distress. We are responsible for; the management of any problem lending portfolios, returning those accounts to the originating Group business unit or subsidiary in a satisfactory condition, maximising debt recoveries and obtaining levels of reward proportionate with risks undertaken.

Business Restructuring Group is the UK division of GRG which deals with distressed debt cases of typically £1 million to £20 million. Using a variety of methods and skills our prime aim to is to help restore our client's financial issues back to acceptable terms or to agree an exit or repayment strategy.

As Relationship Manager your objective is to improve the quality and effectiveness of strategies which help to recover customer’s businesses and assets. This will be through the use of effective management of the bank’s capital and RWAs and upside instrument deals. You will also ensure effective management of potential reputational issues.

To apply you’d ideally already have a proven track record within the re-structuring market and demonstrate a full understanding of the needs of clients in a financially distressed stage. It's important that you've knowledge of equity, mezzanine and senior debt terms, negotiating appropriate risks; reward and documenting complex re-structuring deals. Relevant knowledge of insolvency procedures, use of interim / specialist support along with a sound understanding and ability to model / analyse financials will be a clear benefit.
