Relationship Manager | Business Development Manager | Corporate Property

A highly regarded and growing international banking group are currently looking to appoint an experienced Relationship Manger (RM) and also an experienced Business Development Manager (BDM) with a property focus for their Sydney office.
These are brand new roles and only available due to growth. This is a boutique bank in Sydney with a superb reputation in the community and as such they have a unique and supportive company culture where you know everyone you work with including the MD.
The primary responsibility of these roles will be to manage the new and ongoing business relationships for deals and transactions from the commercial property sector. Deal size would range from 5–30 Million, but typically between 15 –20 million.
Although these two roles support one another and will require similar skills, as a candidate you will portray 2 very different characteristics when deciding on which role to apply for. As the RM you should enjoy the ongoing maintenance and development of those business relationships, and as the BDM, you will be more of a hunter who enjoys bringing in and closing for new business opportunities.
Which one are you?
In both roles you should poses between 3-5+ years’ experience from a similar role, with a property focus and be knowledgeable around the credit side of things, it is important that you know what will and will not work. You should be community focused, with a respect for all cultural backgrounds and be a person who embraces that. Please also be aware that whilst not essential he ability to speak Arabic would be beneficial in these positions.
To be successful, you MUST have:
- A minimum of 3-5+years’ experience gained from commercial or business property finance in a similar role. This must also involve experience with both credit submissions, as well as the ongoing loan operations.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications.
- Demonstrable track record in sales and negotiation.
- Strong problem solving skills and ability to think laterally.
- Excellent interpersonal, organisational and planning skills.
- The ability to work well both autonomously and in a team environment.
