About the department
The mission of Global Banking (GB) is to address the international financial services needs of Wells Fargo's Wholesale customers. Our focus is on delivering value to strong corporate and commercial customers with cross-border financial needs. 

Global Banking works with Wholesale partners, including Commercial Banking, Corporate Banking, and other Wells Fargo lines of business, to deliver financial services to clients operating multinational business operations. Relationships are currently supported and managed through 14 offices in US, London, Dublin, Frankfurt and Hong Kong.

Responsibilities

The primary areas of responsibility for the role are as follows:

• Developing and managing banking relationships with high quality German and European corporate clients. Develop and implement strategic relationship plans for those customers.

• Work with US offices to increase the Bank’s market share among US subsidiaries of parent companies head-quartered in the assigned territory.

• Providing in-country support to subsidiaries of US customers operating in Germany and other assigned European countries.

• Completing major transactions for the most critical/complex clients. 

• Completing new credit reports and for negotiating and closing loan documentation. 

• Managing credit discussions with the Loan Team Manager and Loan Supervisor, as required.    

• Reviewing loan agreements, structuring/amending credit agreements.

Gathering and analyzing information relating to specific credit requests.

• Being proactive in addressing prospective credit line expirations. 

• Working closely with the Area Manager to build the Global Banking business model in Europe.

• Developing a detailed understanding of the Bank’s current European capabilities for bank clients and communicate those capabilities to US-based relationship groups.

Providing input into the build out of regional capabilities (lending, FX, cash management, trade, investments) as they relate to the needs of subsidiaries of US customers.

Requirements

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

• Ideally Degree educated or equivalent.

• Demonstrable experience as a Relationship Manager with a major financial institution, including experience in the German banking market. 

• Strong leadership and credit skills, with direct experience in analyzing complex companies with multinational operations.

• Strong understanding of corporate banking products, services and credit structures.

• Strong finance and accounting skills with familiarity with international financial reporting standards (IFRS).

• Ability to complete high quality credit reports without supervision.

• Comfortable interacting with senior managers at client companies.

• Solid credit underwriting experience preferably with multi-national corporations.     

• Experience originating, structuring, and executing complex transactions with multinational corporate clients.     

• Good understanding of treasury management, foreign exchange and trade products.

• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Fluent in English and German.

• Excellent time management.

• High level integrity.

• Self motivated with a strong work ethic.

• Exhibit a desire to become a key contributor to a strong and successful team.

• Expected travel 20%.
