Institutional Banking is responsible for the provision of products and services to the Bank's major corporate and government clients to optimise the client's capital structure and related financial flows. This is achieved through the origination, structuring and execution of on and off balance sheet products that are enhanced through the efficient application of taxation, accounting, risk and capital management technologies. Institutional Banking is the primary face to the market for all complex financing and advisory functions for the Bank's corporate and major government clients.
In this role you will work with the (Lead) Relationship Executive in a team environment to support the on going needs of a portfolio of Institutional Banking clients across the complete range of Bank products, to develop new business opportunities with existing clients and increase the portfolio with new clients identified from a variety of sources.
Key Accountabilities:
- Assist the Relationship Executive in better understanding the client's business and needs, and link this with the formulation of the client relationship strategy, through research and analysis of portfolio and market data and understanding of the Bank's product.
- Proactively assist the Relationship Executive in the identification and origination of new business opportunities and new clients to the Bank and has active involvement in client marketing initiatives such as brainstorming.
- Provide assistance in preparation of the various Relationship Executive reporting requirements such as pipeline, leads, calls, contacts and revenues versus plan.
- Complete identified activities as specified in the Action Sheet for processing of credit submissions and annual reviews and interact with Risk and product support areas as required.
- Overview the completion of credit submission and annual review process to ensure the timely delivery of decisions documentation and funding to the client and accuracy of information on source systems.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with the dedicated Client Service Centre team, Risk Management, Global Markets and Working Capital Services and ensure the Relationship Executive is appraised of any current servicing issues being experienced by the client(s).
- Process selected reports as necessary and work with the Relationship Executive and Risk Management to ensure that clients conduct facilities within agreed arrangements.
- Maintain in conjunction with the dedicated Client Service Centre all basic client information such as limits, industry, Credit Risk Rating.
- Assist Relationship Executive to provide superior service aligned with the client's needs and the organisation's business objectives.
In order to succeed in this role, you will be able to demonstrate strong communication skills and possess the composure and drive to commit to meet tight transaction deadlines. You will be a constructive team player and will have highly developed organisational skills.
Exposure to a Corporate or Business Banking environment is essential along with a sound understanding of the financial operations of a corporate client and their relationship with a financial institution.
