Team Description

The BNY Mellon Service KAG is a investment company under German law. The company is focused to provide administrative services for third parties and has therefore two different business models:

1) Launching of mutual or institutional funds. The KAG acts as legal platform and administrator, the fund initiative is driven by the 3rd parties (private wealth manager or private banking for the mutual funds, so called "Private-Label-Funds", or the institutional client or an asset manager for the special funds; so called "Master-KAG")

2) Offering administrative services for 3rd party KAGs, Depotbanks or Asset Manager, where the KAG act as service provider ("Service-KAG")

This Sales Relationship team is responsible for the acquisition of new clients and sales partnerships, to represent the company external on fairs, events and press articles, as well as to coordinate the marketing activities of the company. Also the team is responsible to manage existing client relationships. Therefore a key account principle is implemented for the larger clients so that each Relationship Manager is in front and main contact person for his clients.

As the current team exists on 6 people operating Sales, RM and Marketing for all business segments there is the opportunity - but also the duty - for a flexibility within the different roles.

Job Purpose / Responsibilities:

- Key Account Manager for existing Master-KAG and Service-KAG clients.

- Ensure the delivery of the contractual / SLA described services in the expected quality.

- Coordinate clients requirements or change requests.

- Developing the relationship as well as the services provided for the client (cross-selling).

- Regular service review meetings with clients and business departments.

- Coordinate or participate on projects to set up new clients / funds.

- Interact with other business areas with regard to multiple companies relationships into the same clients.

- Provide in-house reporting for relevant client information (eg updates, meetings, revenues, opportunities).

- Ongoing market analysis to identify market or clients requirements or opportunities for additional services.

- Represent the company on fairs, events or press articles.

- Keep up to date with corporate and regulatory requirements.

- Develop and demonstrate effective management and motivational skills.

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial services and specific knowledge of legislation and regulations.

- Undertake ad-hoc tasks; carry out duties including deputising, projects and delegated responsibilities.

- Process Management (day to day)

- The job holder will be expected to continually look for re-engineering and process improvement opportunities at a process, client or industry level.

- The job holder will be required support their Line Managers in representing the department during visits of compliance officers, auditors and clients.

- The role may include business travels.

- The job holder will also be expected to participate in various projects that affect the department and to deputise for the manager as necessary.

- Enhanced knowledge about the operational processes of the fund administration, ideally business experience in any operational back-office departments from an investment company ("KAG") or depot bank.

- Understanding of the business models Master-KAG and Service-LKAG (outsourcing).

- Knowledge on the German Investment law ("Investmentgesetz") and / or the capital market law ("Kapitalmarktrecht").

- Fluent German and English skills in writing and speaking would be required.

- To be numerate and accurate. Must have a proactive personality and ability to influence.

- Must be able to use initiative to obtain results and be able to prioritise work and meet clients deadlines whilst working under pressure or to push relevant departments for the feedback in time.

- Confident communicator with a bias towards customer care.

Academic/Professional Qualifications (or equivalent qualifiers)
The candidate should have a successfully finished bank education or economic studies as well as business experience in that industry, ideally in the Relationship Management. Also a consult with client focus and experience in that business could be interesting for this role
