Relationship Manager, Investment Manager Services
SEI’s Investment Manager Services division (IMS) provides a platform of comprehensive investment operations outsourcing solutions to investment managers globally. This array of front-, middle- and back-office investment processing services integrates best-in-class industry tools and technology to support a manager’s diverse business needs across multiple product types and structures, investment strategies and asset classes. The division provides total operational outsourcing (TOO) solutions to investment managers who manage products ranging from mutual funds, collective investment trusts and ETFs to Alternative Products such as hedge, private equity and fund of hedge funds.
The Relationship Manager is responsible for growing the business/market share and revenue with existing clients. The Relationship Manager will partner with existing clients at the executive/”C” level to offer broader solutions, focus on TOO and generate a larger market share within existing clients.
The responsibilities will include:
Relationship Management:
- Grow existing revenue
- Manage the overall client relationship to maintain targeted revenue and profitability – establish a trusted and consultative relationship
- Deepen and broaden strategic relationships within the client at the “C” suite level, executive buyers and key influencers
- Develop an intimate understanding of the client’s business, objectives, competitors to better consult and provide solutions
- Develop, design and manage client account plan and annual account reviews
- Provide strategic plan and conduct annual business planning process with clients
- Act as consultant – Identify, present, market innovative recommendations relating to: industry trends, product differentiation (product rollout, new classes, channels, etc), new market opportunities, success stories, etc.)
- Work with team to continually define our service offering and manage client expectations
- Ensure referenceability of client, as evidenced through NPS
- Perform annual client account reviews
- Develop forecast for existing business using Client Business Plan and current client profitability
- Identify, assess and cross sell solutions and services
- Maximize the product profitability
Business Management:
- Contribute to the success of the market unit by identifying and participating in department wide initiatives to improve effectiveness
- Foster relationship and support SEI team members and other teams involved in client relationship including Account Manager, Solutions, Operations, Marketing Director, and Wholesaler (as applicable)
- Develop Relationships within other SEI Solutions Groups
- Leverage internal intellectual capital and share success stories
- Expand industry knowledge and network
Required Experiences and Skills
- BS/BA Finance, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 15+ years investment management/operational experience (Traditional or Alternative)
- Proven sales/client relationship experience
- Excellent selling skills
- Advanced knowledge of alternative investment management industry
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, facilitation, presentation)
- Strong negotiation skills
- Ability to build executive/C level relationships
- Demonstrated strategic planning skills
- Demonstrated problem solving skills
- Proven project management skills

Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the work environment may require an individual to move around the office and from building to building which may expose the individual to weather conditions outside. The individual has to be able to sit or be stationary at a computer and use computers for extended periods of time and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. The noise level in the environment is moderate and the individual must be able to communicate and exchange information with people in person and over the telephone and email.
