Relationship Managers – Banking recruitment
THE BANK
Our client is a highly regarded emerging markets bank with a population of c4,000 employees worldwide who are based in a network of branches covering eight countries spread over the UK, Europe, UAE and Asia. The bank provides a comprehensive range of commercial and private banking services to its customers utilising corporate, consumer, trade finance, retail and correspondent banking products. The bank places a high emphasis on providing an exceptional personal service to its customers.
THE POSITIONS
These Relationship Managers will be based in the bank’s London office and will be responsible for managing a portfolio of mainly Asian local and international corporate clients as well as HNW individuals and their families, for whom they will raise deposits and provide a wide range of solutions which will include banking, credit, FX and investments and introduce specialists to clients from within the bank to assist them when necessary. They will maintain and develop strong relationships with these clients whilst adhering to risk service standards.
Responsibilities will include:
- Achieving income growth from existing and new customers.
- Achieving sales targets via new customers and enhanced facilities to existing customers.
- Processing all required account opening forms with the customer and ensuring accounts are opened in line with customer instructions and timelines.
- Undertaking customer service calls, outbound sales calls and prospecting activity as required.
- Updating and maintaining customer data for all key internal systems.
- Maintaining knowledge of the bank’s products, services and processes to deliver excellent customer service.
- Completing new credit reports, negotiating, and closing loan documentation.
- Managing credit discussions with the Senior Relationship Manager and Credit Approval team as needed.
- Reviewing loan agreements, structuring/amending credit agreements.
- Gathering and analysing information relating to specific credit requests.
- Being proactive in addressing prospective credit line expirations.
- Completing major transactions for clients.
QUALIFICATIONS
Ideal candidates will be experienced relationship managers who have the ability to work in a cross-cultural community banking environment and possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Aptitude for developing sales and lead generation.
- Knowledge of credit/account opening system and processes.
- Planning and organisational skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure.
- Ability to assimilate and apply product and process knowledge.
- Sound knowledge of business products.
- Understanding of financial statements.
- There is no sector specialisation in this role so knowledge of UK and Emerging Markets SMEs, business models, market and industry trends is required.
- Confident in interacting frequently across all business areas and with senior management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with highly developed credit proposal writing skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, and the capability to demonstrate sound commercial judgement.
