Robert Half Technology (Financial Services) are working with this dynamic, global investment bank with a presence in most major markets, to help to secure a highly talented 3rd Line Windows Engineer / Release Deployment Manager to drive standardisation implement group-wide processes tools globally, as the organisation continues to scale up enter new markets. The role offers the successful Windows Engineer / Release Deployment Manager the opportunity to take up a role where they will be able to shape the infrastructure estate operations delivery for the future.

The Role

The client are looking for an exceptional customer facing professional who can deliver Release Control Management across the Windows infrastructure to high standards. The successful Windows Engineer should be able to assess, deploy, update servers, clients, devices across physical, virtual, distributed, mobile environments. This role will include designing, deploying, and configuring ConfigMgr 2007 for the group, with added responsibility for distribution of software through collections, implementation of the Desired Configuration Management (DCM) Asset Intelligence. This hire will work closely with the Server Team to identify opportunities for new solutions provide input throughout the product development release cycle.The Release Control Manager will be part of the IT Operations team the successful applicants background must include a strong technical / solution expertise on SCCM and maintaining an SCCM infrastructure as well as imaging Windows desktop operating systems (XP, Windows 7) its migration process. They should be able to independently understand project requirements technically manage the design implementation of solutions / documents; as well as effectively managing deployment - maintaining the operating systems software applications. The Windows Server Engineer will take the lead in creating standards documentation for testing new applications hardware as required; be responsible for ensuring that standard ITIL processes are followed appropriately (e.g. Problem Management, Incident Management, Release Management, Change Management, Configuration Management). The ideal candidate will create maintain a culture of continuous improvement, pro-actively identifying opportunities for service improvements internal efficiencies, thereby regularly delivering efficiency gains added-value service improvements.

Technically the successful candidate will have expert technical knowledge of System Centre Configuration Manager 2007 R2; a solid experience with Microsoft ConfigMgr 2007 R2, including design implementation; experience in the deployment of Windows XP/7 images, as well as Windows server 2003/2008; creating software packages using Microsoft Application Virtualization, App-V; creating collections managing the deployment through SCCM; experience of Altiris would be an advantage as the client will be migrating; knowledge of Active Directory including GPO's, DHCP, DNS; the ability to produce technical documentation to a high standard; strong interpersonal communications skills.

Salary Benefits

£65,000-£75,000/Month + Excellent Bonus Benefits
