Release Manager
Job Summary: Participates in defining the company's technology development and deployment strategies related to the Positive Train Control (PTC) system in support of business and industry initiatives. Coordinates and develops implementation strategies and timelines for PTC related technologies and application architectures. Analyzes and evaluates systems related to CSX PTC system to identify compatible functionality for development and deployment, while insuring that new functionality does not adversely impact the overall PTC system. Collaborates with industry representatives to represent CSX's interests in regard to deployment of PTC functionality. Primary Activities and Responsibilities: Collaborate with production support teams to understand both tactical and strategic plans related to the Positive Train Control system. Collaborate with system subject matter experts on proposed changes to the Positive Train Control system to understand the impact of changes and identify the overall impact to the functionality of the Positive Train Control system. Identify and maintain listings of components that comprise the business services which enable the operation of the Positive Train Control system. Conduct analysis of both tactical and strategic activities related to Positive Train Control release management activities to determine overall impact to the system. Advise senior management, support teams, and business partners on the impact of new software, hardware and communications technologies to the Positive Train Control system. Collaborate with production support teams, Program Management Office, business partners, and other stakeholders to create and maintain the release schedule for the Positive Train Control system. Collaborate with industry representatives in driving CSX interests in regard to deployment of Positive Train Control interoperable functionality. Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager
