The Reliability Superintendent is a multi-department manager that reports to the Maintenance Engineering Manager. This position will be responsible to drive the improvement of plant reliability by leading the execution of work processes within the proactive model. In addition, this position is responsible for the execution of condition monitoring techniques (PdM) utilizing internal, and external, labor resources in order to meet Cargill?s personnel qualification standards. Responsibilities also include the deployment of Equipment Maintenance Strategies and providing supervision/leadership for the formal Planning function. This position will apply knowledge and experience to ensure continuous improvement of the company's physical assets and maintenance and reliability processes and strategies. The candidate will support the continued implementation and leadership of the Reliability Excellence process. Principle Accountabilities: Coordinate and conduct MR activities within criteria and timeframes identified by internal and external Maintenance Reliability standards. Using established protocols assesses Maintenance Reliability requirements and coordinates necessary follow-up work. Liaises with facility management, work force, contractors, community, and local regulators in routine communications. Drive the implementation of the Equipment Maintenance Strategies (EMS) in accordance with Cargill?s Asset Health Assurance Standard Drive the execution of maintenance procedures, and maintenance management systems to assure compliance with the fundamental plant reliability strategies, standards and practices. Ensure the work management system is executed as designed and attempts to work around issues are addressed swiftly and without compromise to the process Training and motivating employees to adhere to safety practices and procedures Provide technical support and direct supervision of the Planning function Ensure the work orders and work requests are metered through the system and executed in accordance to the established work flow. Work closely with the Reliability Engineering function to reduce the effects of defects entering the system by improving maintenance procedures using RCM, cause analysis, bad actor analysis, etc.. Communicate with the production managers on modifications requests or work order requests, to ensure that requirements are met to keep the work flowing through the system as required. 50% - Driving the implementation and execution of Equipment Maintenance Strategies in accordance with Cargill?s asset health assurance model standard. 20% - Provide technical expertise and direct supervision of the Planning function 15% - Collaborate with Reliability Engineering function to eliminate defects introduced by improper maintenance procedures/techniques. 10% - Collaborate with Site leadership, operations, commercial staff as required to develop and implement appropriate responsive programs for asset management 5% - Coordinate and act as a resource for MR training for facility personnel Qualifications Required Qualifications: Minimum of post secondary education. Engineering degree preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years as Maintenance Superintendent of a large facility Experience in condition monitoring technologies (vibration, ultrasonic?s, oil analysis, thermography, and MCE) Minimum of 3 years maintenance supervisory experience in a production facility Demonstrated decision-maker who easily interacts with others, and who adopts a hands-on approach to leading and motivating a team Excellent leadership, interpersonal, organizational, motivational and communication skills Knowledge of continuous improvement programs Experience implementing reliability centered maintenance principles Experience working with computerized maintenance management systems (MAXIMO) Experience in MS Office systems Desired Qualifications: Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems using formal techniques to evaluate systems, equipment, and processes. Strong computer based analytical skills. Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP). Demonstrated ability to solve problems and make decisions independently Demonstrated ability to organize and implement projects which improve the operational effectiveness of a process. Experience using Reliability Centered Maintenance techniques, cause analysis, and predictive maintenance technologies such as vibration analysis, infrared, acoustic emissions, tribology, etc. Cargill is an EEO/AA employer.
