RELIEF STAFF PHARMACIST
POSITION SUMMARY
The role of the PRN Pharmacist is to manage all of the clinical programs administered by Apothecary Shops. Although the PRN Pharmacist is ultimately responsible for the oversight of the dispensing process, it is not the expectation of the PRN Pharmacist to perform pre-pharmacist verification dispensing functions, but may be necessary in certain circumstances
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises all pharmacy support staff
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provides pharmacy services to patient and medical practitioners. Fills prescriptions, dispenses medicines, counsels patients and medical practitioners regarding the nature and use of drugs, and trains and/or supervises pharmacy interns.
· Oversees the preparation and dispensing of prescription medications to patients or medical practitioners
· Oversees the preparation of all necessary records on prescriptions, patient charges.
· Provides guidance, training and supervision to pharmacy interns and technicians during course of work and monitors performance
· Follows established policies, procedures and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
· Provide pharmacist coverage at various Apothecary Shop locations as needed according to schedule provided
· Provides guidance, training and supervision to pharmacy interns and technicians during course of work and monitors performance
· Assists in maintaining expenses at each location, including but not limited to, inventory, payroll, and supplies.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
· The ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
· Knowledge of the use, clinical effects, and composition of drugs, including their chemical, biological, and physical properties
· Ability to supervise support staff and ensure an efficient work flow
· Ability to work accurately in a fast paced environment
· Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.

· Must possess a professional appearance and possess excellent communication skills
· Ability to look at prescriptions for extended periods of time and ensure accuracy in the input and filling of the prescription and make corrections if needed
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
· Pharmacy license in good standing in the state which they are practicing
