Remittance Processor
Position Description
The focus of the Remittance Processing Department is to process payments received for insurance premiums that have come due for our property and casualty policies. The Intake Clerk position is primarily responsible for managing two of the payment options offered to our customers which are Direct Bill and Pre-Authorized Payment.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will rotate amongst different positions based upon a weekly schedule (training is provided on each position):
- Cheque Processing (to verify cheque is negotiable and legible)
- Operate Mail Extraction machine
- Credit Card Processing (to verify card number is written in full and has a valid expiry date)
- Mail Distribution (includes Pre-Authorized Payment processing)
- Scanning of credit card and pre-authorized payment authorization forms for electronic storage purposes
- EDI Processing (type of New Business payment)
Qualifications
- Minimum Grade 12 education
- Minimum 1 year of remittance processing experience or equivalent experience in a processing environment
- Excellent organizational skills Strong attention to detail Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Solid teamwork abilities
- Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
- Conversant with MS Office desktop tools or willing to take appropriate training
