Put your knowledge of engineering theory into practice by joining our South Pacific Operating Centre (ROC), an initiative to implement best practice in plant operation. Located at North Ryde, the ROC remotely controls and monitors the major BOC production facilities in the South Pacific as well as a number of smaller facilities.
Each team member will be responsible for the safe, efficient and reliable operation of a number of process plants throughout Australia and New Zealand. The centre operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and involves working rotating 12-hours shifts. Accountabilities in this challenging role will include:
- Starting, stopping and setting up plants for optimum operation
- Development of systems and continuous improvement initiatives
- Proactively advising and assisting in plant maintenance issues and systems
- Developing and maintaining excellent customer and supplier relationships

You will hold a relevant tertiary qualification (mechanical/chemical engineering preferred) and have experience in process/chemical plant operations. The successful candidate will have a strong focus on safety, customer service and quality, with the ability to stay focused under pressure. Excellent communication skills are essential as you will be working with both internal and external customers remotely. Team members will need to demonstrate effective problem solving and multitasking skills, along with a high level of numerical and analytical aptitude.
