Renewables Originator recruitment
The role-holder is the key point of contact within Commercial on export and low carbon energy issues and will be a professional originator or structurer with a track record of success in energy markets. The role-holder is also expected to be an expert in the UK mechanisms that cover renewable and low carbon energy supply in the UK, including the Climate Change Levy, Renewables Obligation, Fuel Mix Disclosure and Greenhouse Gas Reporting.
They must be able to communicate with stakeholders with all levels of knowledge about low carbon energy topics.
The role-holder will work collaboratively across the organisation to specify and deliver products and services. They must have excellent communication and influencing skills. Key to this role is enthusiasm for helping our customers optimise their export assets.
The role-holder must be customer focused and a cross functional worker with scope to grow their responsibility. Exceptional numerical skills are essential as the job requires reporting of complex portfolio positions. They will also be required to contribute to long-term planning exercises.
You should have a strong academic record, with a technical degree (financial, numerical, or engineering)
• Experience in a similar role within the Energy industry with knowledge of the Renewable Energy market, products, pricing and competition
• Able to work effectively across the business unit and external stakeholders with good influencing skills
• Demonstrable numerical analytical skills. Ability to participate in a programme of analytical work to support projects and ad hoc requests. Ability to sense check high levels of analytical and rigorous output that is credible, can be trusted and believed
• Must be action orientated in order to best fulfil stakeholder demands
• Able to work collaboratively across the organisation to deliver
• Ability in creating written communication reports / presentations which are suitable to be sent to internal and external stakeholders without significant editing.
• Understanding of the commercial benefits of sustainability, environmental care and energy efficiency
• Understanding of pricing and cost principles including wind balancing / imbalance and other risk costs
