Rent & Service Charge Supervisor

Our Client, based in Oldham have appointed Hays to source for a Rent Service Charge Supervisor to join their Organisation. 

Working within a large finance team, reporting to the Rents Service Charge Manager you shall have the following duties:

Key Responsibilities:

· Provide effective rent and service charge accounting services to local Housing Management Teams and the Centre of Excellence for Home Ownership across the Partnership within agreed timescales and service level agreements.
· Ensure accurate and timely annual budgets, monthly accounts and financial statements are produced for all service charges; liaising with operational staff as required.
· Monitor actual performance of rents and service charges against budget, analysing variances and taking corrective action; escalating issues as appropriate.
· Ensure Home Ownership intercompany accounts reconciled in accordance with require timescales and outstanding items resolved promptly.
· Support operational staff by providing training, advice and guidance; responding to queries promptly and effectively in accordance with service agreements.
· Liaise with internal and external auditors and resolve all audit queries effectively and within timescales required.

Key Outcomes:

· Accurate and timely service charge budgets and annual financial statements produced and customers notified in legislative timescales.
· Accurate and timely rent and service charge reports produced for local Housing Management Team and the Centre of Excellence for Home Ownership Services.
· Home Ownership intercompany accounts reconciled in accordance with require timescales.
· Variances to budget identified and corrective action taken with issues escalated as appropriate.
· Training and support provided to operational staff.
· Internal and external audit queries dealt with effectively and on time.

Essential:

· Proven customer service experience.
· Good attention to detail with ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload to meet agreed deadlines.
· Proven experience of preparing management accounts.
· Experience of reviewing and analysing financial information and reporting on results.
· Experience of using Oracle Financials or equivalent finance system.
· Excellent oral and written communications.
· Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.

In order to be considered for this role you shall have experience of rent and service charge applications and systems with knowledge of rent and service charge regulation and differing tenure types. Experience of working in the social housing sector is also an advantage.
