Summary

Finance is repsonsible for ensuring the accuracy of transactions recorded in the general ledger, which enables the accurate reporting of financial results to Executive Management, Head Office, and Regulators. This includes providing insightful analysis, expense analysis, and streamlining internal processes. These actions will facilitate decision-making and support strategic initiatives that will create front-office efficiencies and make the delivery of low cost products achievable.

This position will primarily focus on performing technical accounting research, including summarizing the guidance and documenting the impact to the ING; this position will be responsible for documenting/summarizing on-going accounting policies and assist in special projects. This position will provide support for Regulatory examinations, and management of the external audit engagement as well as participate in the Banks quarterly reporting. The role may also participate in the monthly/quarterly/yearly US GAAP and IFRS consolidation process for ING DIRECT Bancorp and subsidiaries. This requires ensuring quality of financial results and accurate timing of deliverables to key stakeholders (i.e. Head Office, Board of Directors, and the OTS).

Responsibilities

*Preparation of technical accounting memos documenting the Companys accounting position/treatment for complex accounting transactions.
*Assist in preparation/review of ING Banks quarterly financial statements for Board of Directors meetings and the financial accounting consolidation of ING DIRECT Bancorp and subsidiaries ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and proper reconciliation to other comprehensive bases of accounting (IFRS, Regulatory).
*Serves as the liaison with Head Office personnel on issues relating to accounting classifications and reported figures. Receives and responds to all correspondence, utilizing internal resources to fulfill requests and answer inquiries in a timely, accurate and organized manner.
*Facilitates analytical reviews and analysis (i.e. asset yields) of material balance sheet and income statement fluctuations on a monthly basis and organizes analyses in a manner suitable for use by senior management, external auditors and other key stakeholders.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should posses 4-8 years of experience working in financial capacity related to financial reporting, regulatory reporting and accounting policy. The candidate will also have the following attributes:
*BA in Accounting or Finance
*CPA Required
*Financial service industry experience with an emphasis on financial reporting and accounting policy
*Practical experience managing external auditor deliverables and ability to manage tight reporting deadlines
*Public accounting experience
*Strong Access and Excel knowledge and experience developing models
*Ability to research, interpret and report on complex reporting policies impacting the bank
