Department Overview:
As a member of the North American Operations Supply Chain Management (SCM) group, the Requisition Technician will work with support of the Drilling and Completions (DC) teams. The Requisition Technician will support activities occurring across Talisman’s North American operations.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Procurement Operations Team Lead, the Requisition Technician will play a critical role in supporting DC planning groups and the SCM Buyer group in the creation and management of Purchase Requisitions in the SAP system and procurement through other non-SAP based SCM buying channels.
In order to ensure Drilling and Completions staff are appropriately supported, Requisition Technicians will assist in the creation of both planned requisitions requested by Calgary-based DC Planners and also critical and emergency requisitions requested by field-based DC foremen.
Requisition Technicians will support the management of multiple activities across the lifecycle of the Purchase Order. This potentially includes raising requisitions, amending requisitions and Purchase Orders, reporting, receiving, issue resolution and close out. Additionally, the Requisition Technician
Requisition Technicians will also serve as SAP ‘Super Users’ within their respective work groups. In this capacity, the Requisition Technicians will serve as front-line support for SAP users, fielding and responding to questions around SAP-related processes and system transactions.
Prior to Go Live of the SAP system, Requisition Technicians will support project activities including but not limited to, user acceptance testing, training and business engagement.
Qualifications:
- The candidate should have a familiarity with Oil and Gas industry, specifically knowledge of work activities in the DC discipline would be an advantage
- The candidate should have SCM experience
- The candidate should be familiar with SAP Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), Finance (FI) and Business Warehouse (BW) modules
Candidate Profile:
- The candidate will be capable of taking Well Authorizations for Financial Expenditure (AFE) to quickly and accurately, with contracted service providers translate these requirements into requisitions.
- The candidate will pro-actively monitor and manage procurement-related issues; driving them to resolution through the appropriate channels
- The candidate will be capable of building and maintaining close working relationships with peers located in Calgary and field locations
- The candidate will possess a customer service mind-set
