Research Analyst
The research analyst role would be located in London and would entail providing quantitative research support to the sovereign group including:
- Preparation of our flagship quarterly data publication
- Assistance with management of our global sovereign databases – covering economic and financial statistics and forecasts for over 100 countries
- Maintaining and updating data and forecasts for our Bank Systemic Risk model
- Maintenance of sovereign ratings data and our Sovereign Ratings Model
- Assistance with production of charts and datasets
In addition the post-holder would have the opportunity to produce ad hoc Special Reports and would be able to develop a good understanding of country risk and macroeconomics through working with experienced sovereign analysts based in London.
Qualifications and Experience
The post-holder will be educated to degree level or equivalent and possess excellent quantitative skills. Pro?ciency in Microsoft Excel is essential. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a strong interest in macroeconomics, finance and country risk. Academic qualifications in economics and knowledge of econometrics alongside some experience in a data related role would be an advantage but not essential. Good working knowledge of Eviews, Thomson Datastream and Bloomberg would also be an advantage.
The position would particularly support someone with a strong quantitative academic background looking to apply this in a commercial environment whilst developing an understanding of applied economics and country risk analysis.
