Research Analyst – Capital Markets recruitment

Located in Brisbane CBD, an opportunity has arisen for a qualified and experienced Research Analyst to join the dedicated Capital Markets Boutique.

The Capital Markets division is responsible for strategic asset rebalancing (incl. beta mandate implementation), currency Rebalancing and capital provisioning and liquidity management and dynamic Risk Management

The Policy and Research function within Capital Markets is responsible for the development and delivery of the Capital Markets policy and research in investment strategy, in line with the Capital Markets business plan and in consultation with the senior leaders within the group. Furthermore, the Policy and Research function identify and deliver innovative strategic currency and exposure management solutions to achieve team and corporate performance targets in line with the strategic plan and utilising strong industry knowledge. 

The Research Analyst position will directly contribute to these core business outcomes through the below responsibilities.

The role requires practical engagement with other divisions as including client relations staff, portfolio managers and dealers in other front office divisions, investment operations personnel, information systems personnel and corporate divisions.

This role also requires the ability to development strong client goodwill, either as part of the presentation of the investment process at QIC, training and mentoring for the staff of major clients, as part of ongoing client service efforts and endeavoring to grow the business in a commercially sound manner.

To be considered for the position, candidates will need to possess the following:

oPreferably 5 or more years of front office trading, structuring, portfolio management or specialist marketing of multi-asset class OTC and exchange traded derivatives, including but not limited to equities, foreign exchange, rates and credit.

oExperienced at building and managing relationships with investment professionals;

oExperienced at working within a team in a high-pressure financial markets environment;

oTertiary qualification in Finance, Economic or Mathematics or a similar type of field.
