Research responsibilities will include manager universe monitoring, implementing screening, monitoring, and selection process, manager performance monitoring, tracking manager statistics, and reviewing all manager communications.

FEG markets through two distribution channels:
- Institutions – Endowments, public and private foundations, pension plans, healthcare institutions and not-for-profit entities. Within the institutional channel, FEG primarily markets traditional consulting services (FEG Consulting) and discretionary portfolio management services (FEG Managed Portfolios).
- Financial Intermediaries – Independent RIAs, wealth managers, family offices, banks, broker dealers and insurance companies. Within the financial intermediary channel, FEG markets hedge fund of funds and Managed Portfolios.
FEG manages two hedge fund-of-funds. The two FEG hedge fund of funds were created to provide investors with access to best of class institutional hedge fund managers at a low minimum investment and cost. The funds leverage FEG’s hedge fund experience advising on alternative investments for endowments and other institutional clients. FEG offers similar solutions to clients for private capital.
Position Responsibilities
- Primary research coverage providing investment manager due diligence and ongoing monitoring of equity strategies, including:
-New strategies researched and recommended by the analyst
-Current recommended managers on FEG’s platform
- Preparation of formal research reports
- Market monitoring and analysis
- Preparation of market summaries, analysis and presentations, and other research
Qualifications
The qualified analyst must have a Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years’ experience in the investment management industry. The candidate should also have, or be in the process of obtaining, a CFA designation (preferred) or a Masters in Business Administration. The candidate must be passionate about investments and intellectually curious. Previous equity manager research experience is a plus. If no previous directly relatable experience, the candidate should possess a strong knowledge of investments, have some familiarity with different equity investment strategies and philosophies, and must be willing to put in the time to self-educate. Additionally, the candidate must be able to work in a team environment, be detail-oriented and possess excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills. Other desired traits include a strong systems aptitude in relevant business and financial services programs such as Excel and Bloomberg. Occasional travel will be required.
