Enterprise Market Research is seeking a creative problem solver to fill the role of Research Analyst. Candidate will report to one of the Marketplace Insights Managers within Enterprise Market Research, and will help support the team's research needs. This unit investigates selected industries and geographies for our internal clients to help them identify demographic, economic and other relevant trends so that they can target their growth strategies. Deliverables often include a presentation and/or write-up of findings, including some analysis and synthesis of multiple, sometimes conflicting, datasets. Duties include: Conducts thorough research by investigating multiple, appropriate sources and then synthesizing and reconciling often competing information. Works with manager to create output that is accurate, appropriate, and actionable for our internal clients. Helps develop comprehensive recommendations, sometimes intended for senior management, based on internal and external research, demonstrating insight, creativity, and neutrality. Collaborates with multiple departments, including sales, product development, enterprise underwriting, actuarial, claim, etc. Balances several projects at once, including some lasting many months, and works with manager to help prioritize deliverables. Provides professional-level customer service to internal clients. Qualifications include: 2 - 5 years of experience, with an undergraduate degree in economics, business administration, finance, or similar discipline. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office product suite, especially Excel PowerPoint. Ability to learn quickly, demonstrate initiative, and adapt / adjust to shifting priorities. Demonstrates sound research skills, both qualitative and quantitative. Ability to deal with ambiguity while solving problems. Manages workload efficiently, effectively, and completely. Ability to work in a dynamic team environment. Commitment to continuously develop skill set and knowledge base. Utilizes strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Knowledge of basic insurance practices, procedures, and products preferred. Knowledge of Travelers data systems and protocols is a plus.
