Research Analyst (Resources)
The Australian equities research team comprises 40 sector-based analysts covering more than 270 stocks across Australia and New Zealand. The research team was recently rated number one in the East Coles survey for the 4th year in a row, with 17 top-three rated teams.
Working with the lead analyst(s) across diversified mining stocks, metals and working closely with the global commodities team based in Sydney. The associate will be responsible for maintaining all stock and industry models, writing research, dealing with corporate relationships and interacting with internal and external clients. The environment is challenging and demanding, but exciting and dynamic in Australia's leading equities business and leading research team.
Responsibilities
• Maintain an in-depth knowledge of key companies and their sectors
• Prepare research analysis reports and advise on investment ideas as well as write thematic sector pieces
• Develop and maintain regular communication with company management teams, clients and our internal sales teams
• Engage in financial modelling, forecasting and financial statement analysis
• Participate in marketing activities including corporate non-deal roadshows, luncheons and other related events
Requirements
• 3-5 years experience gained from a reputable Securities House/Investment Bank
• Proven ability to critically review and analyse industry data
• Able to present and communicate recommendations and investment decisions
• Competent in financial modelling, investment research, analysis and evaluation
• Strong organisational skills and ability to multitask within tight timeframes
• Strong Excel skills
• Experience in Equity Research or Investment Banking
