Research Analyst – Strategy
This is an exciting role for a business analyst to join a start up team setting up a European asset manager. The management team is extremely experienced and successful entrepreneurs in the asset management space. The role will suit a self motivated and analytical finance professional. The ideal candidate will be very excited by the chance to help establish and build a business, working directly with the owners of the business. The initial work will focus on analysing the market and its opportunities, and will include execution and product focus in the near term.
The individual will be required to:
- Research the industry to be on top of current and future trends, and to suggest new and profitable businesses to enter
- Create investment proposals for new products and business ideas to include business case, financial model and implementation plans. The proposals will be presented to management for approval
- Support general functions as required to assist the business and management
- Assist with pricing models and development of risk management tools
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis related to index design and construction.
- Actively contribute to the identification and implementation of improvements to the way in which a new product is developed and launched.
- Support product development and management in responding to inquiries from sales, intermediaries and investors.
Experience
- 2-4 years experience in asset management, business analysis or research
- Knowledge of index construction methodologies and terminology.
- Experience with business plans or investment proposals
- Excel and Bloomberg a must
Skills
- Adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Good writing and presentation skills, especially English.
- Strong data analysis skills and highly proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
- Good knowledge of Bloomberg
- Hard working, entrepreneurial and driven to succeed.
- Resourceful, proactive and able to effectively operate in a highly collegial and demanding team environment.
- Ability to think outside the box, solve problems and contribute ideas to the management team
Qualifications
- BA / BS in Finance, Economics, or similar field.
- CFA or MBA a plus.
- Must be able to live and work in the UK
