Duties and Responsibilities:
Our client is looking for a capable Research Development Engineer to join their Engine Management Systems team located at the Engineering Centre in Coventry, England. At these facilities they have specialist teams focusing on powertrain, infotainment and safety systems, thermal systems and rotating machines for a variety of automotive and off-highway manufacturers.
This position will provide you with the opportunity to take an active role within our advanced engineering teams developing and promoting DENSO components to potential new customers in Europe. You will investigate new mechanisms behind future engine and vehicle technologies specifying future component requirements. You will be involved with designing and implementing prototypes both in terms of engine and vehicle software to help demonstrate these technologies to our customers. You will act as an interface between our European customers and our research and development department in Japan with which you will collaborate closely.
Candidate Requirements:
You may be working as a Research and Development Engineer, and fundamental knowledge of IC engine combustion and engine control will be expected. Knowledge of Matlab, Simulink or similar would be essential
You will typically have a passion for technical products and are likely to have a degree in engineering or comparable education with a focus on mechanical or electronics engineering.
You will be comfortable working both independently and in teams and will demonstrate strong communication and negotiation skills. You are likely to be highly self-motivated and able to use your initiative.
Travel
In this role you will be expected to undertake occasional business travel and opportunities to work overseas would be available.
