Supervises day-to-day activities for several small scale project(s) or a complete phase of medium project, e.g., multi-year, budget under 200k annually. Recommends solutions to project design problems. Works under general supervision. Final review required for each phase of project.
Essential Functions:
- Coordinates multiple small scale research projects or phases of a medium size project
- Supervises staff to include hiring, training, evaluating performance assigning work
- Develops project tools such as tracking forms, study questionnaires chart review forms
- Supervises overall recruitment activities of study participants to ensure eligibility
- Makes final selection decision
- Supervises data collection on-site pretests of questionnaires
- Oversees quality assurance
- Drafts project progress reports, data collection data entry summations
- Assists in development of study presentations scientific manuscripts
- Serves as a staff member on professional committees w/ other coordinators investigators
- Recommends solutions to project design problems
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor' Degree or equivalent experience in Public Health, Health Care Administration, Epidemiology or other related field required.
- Two (2) to four (4) years of experience in one or more of the technical areas required.
- Professional certification (ex: RN, RHIT, RD, etc) may substitute for two (2) years of experience.
- Working knowledge of research methodology / research study design, hypothesis testing and qualitative data interpretation.
- Strong knowledge of computer applications, such as word processing, spreadsheet design and database applications.
- Able to generate flow charts, charts review instruments, design questionnaires and interpret data.
- Strong project coordination skills required.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
- Must be able to work in a Labor / Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual (English / Spanish) preferred.
- MPH, MS preferred.
- Previous professional experience in a research setting preferred.
- Analytical, highly organized, detail-oriented, and have solid follow-through and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Excel, Access and Word.
- Knowledge of statistical instruments (SAS, SPSS, etc) desired.
Notes:
- Selected candidate will provide assistance on various research studies as needed.
- Individual will be responsible for preparing study materials, assisting with various study documents and grant submissions, collecting project data, chart abstraction, recruitment and other duties as assigned.
- May be responsible for coordinating portions of studies and may train and oversee other support staff.
- May function as a liaison and participate in meetings to discuss issues and progress.
- Depending on project assigned, individual may conduct in-person or phone interviews and handle, collect and ship biospecimens.
- May require occasional evening and weekend work.
- Position may also require occasional travel to other KP medical centers and collaborating institutions.
- Position will be conditional and duration will be based on the availability of grant funds to support this position. Upon completion of the initial grant-funded project, grant funded individuals may be assigned to other grant funded projects, if operationally feasible.
