University of Pittsburgh Physicians is hiring a full-time Research Associate to help support the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Research Division for its Oakland location at Kaufman Building. This position is Monday thru Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Assist in the execution of research protocols and services. Responsibilities -Explain research protocol and obtain informed consent from participants. -Contact and schedule potential participants from a designated pool of individuals who have agreed to be contacted for research studies. -Perform venipuncture in clinic setting; will consider training in phlebotomy for motivated candidates -Conduct interviews with research participants as needed. -Perform simple performance based measures of subjects, such as timing walking speed. -Transport blood samples to laboratory -Conduct subject searches to locate subjects who are unable to be contacted. -Maintain and update subject information database. -Perform phone interviews for research project protocol(s) as needed. -Conduct interviews with research participants under supervision as needed. -Conduct on-line and/or library searches as needed by the PI as necessary. Basic Qualifications -Bachelor's Degree in psychology, neuroscience, counseling, sociology, biology, chemistry, biochemistry or related research field -Familiarity with computers and common software packages required -Prior related work experience in a research setting preferred -Working knowledge of research methodology strongly preferred -Perform venipuncture in clinic setting; will consider training in phlebotomy for motivated candidates Licensure/Certifications -Act 33,34 and 73 required within first 30 days.
