To participate in an emergency department study assessing clinical outcomes associated with the implementation of a new molecular assay for patients with skin and soft tissue infections (SSTI) and to assess the rates and factors associated with recurrent infections and related emergency department research projects.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned based on the Grant.
• Provides daily research support for the assigned research projects and related activities, including consent and enrollment, data collection, data entry, management, and review.
• Assists in developing research study procedures and policies.
• Provides liaison with other campus-wide offices and external research collaborators as necessary to coordinate research efforts, including the clinical and research laboratories.
• Conducts computerized and on-line research as needed to support the research project.
• Performs assigned medical library research assignments and prepares written report summaries.
• Assists in research, analysis, and writing of assigned reports to support the study
• To coordinate with the IRB on the study
• To train and supervise research assistants on the study
• To assist with data analysis, abstract, and manuscript preparation.
• To assist with grant proposal preparation.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Education: BA/BS Degree in appropriate discipline or equivalent combination of training and experience. At lease one semester of graduate-level coursework in epidemiology and biostatistics required.
Experience: Prior experience in clinical research projects preferred, including experience in recruitment and enrolling patients in clinical studies.
