JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position is responsible for the development of new products, materials, and technologies for Saint-Gobain Proppants. As part of a collaborative Proppants RD team, the position will accomplish the following goals:
• Create a grassroots, proactive culture of safety (physical) by encouraging, empowering, and involving all members in safety
• Promote innovation and advance scientific understanding to address business growth strategy that fits market needs
• Manage all aspects of well-defined projects, using scientific and engineering principles to achieve goals with reasonable supervision and independently documenting results via technical reports.
• Interface with global manufacturing plants for new product development and resolve escalated technical issues as a member of the Proppants RD team.
• Investigate patent and technical literature, perform competitive analysis, and develop new patents for business with Proppants RD team
• Directly manage one or more technicians to accomplish goals.

This position requires a MS in Ceramic Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Geology, or other relevant scientific of engineering field applicable to the business. Ideal candidates will also possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in applied RD. Ability to speak a second language is beneficial as well as experience working in a multi-cultural environment. Previous experience adhering to and participating in corporate sponsored safety programs is required.
