This role provides an opportunity for an outstanding academic to collaborate and conduct research in wireless communications at Macquarie University’s Electronic Engineering Department.
 
Candidates are expected to have a strong research profile in Physical layer wireless communications, preferably with a background in multiple input, multiple output (MIMO) communications, and a sound understanding of the information-theoretic foundations of modern communication theory.
 
Candidates will possess a PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or related field, a track record in research and publications in Wireless Communications or related field.
 
For appointment at Level B Candidates will possess a demonstrated track record in high quality research publications, and will have achieved a more senior level of research independence.

The successful applicant will work with the new CSIRO Macquarie University Chair in Wireless Communications Professor Stephen Hanly, and other members of the Wireless Communications group as well as leading researchers from the nearby CSIRO ICT centre.
 
The CSIRO Macquarie University Chair in Wireless Communications has been established with funding provided by the Science and Industry Endowment Fund to support the further development of Australia’s world-leading wireless communication research at Macquarie University and the CSIRO ICT Centre.

Appointment Type: Full-time, fixed-term for a period of 3 years and will be subject to probationary conditions

Package: Level A Step 6 from $71,597 -$76,801 per annum, plus 17% employer’s superannuation and annual leave loading.
 
Package: Level B from $80,807 - $95,824 per annum, plus 17% employer’s superannuation and annual leave loading.
