Research Scientist and Engineer-Machine Learning and Applied Math-Utility Player at IEEE (Piscataway, NJ) (allows remote)
Job Description

As a member of our small team, you will play a key role in analyzing and understanding large, complicated problems.You will use statistical and machine learning techniques to develop algorithms and improve existing approaches for large-scale data analysis. You will research and implement novel machine learning and statistical approaches. Your contributions will be seen and recognized broadly throughout the organization - and maybe even showcased in the industry as a whole.
Skills Requirements
- Has a passion for solving real problems with machine learning
- MS degree and/or PhD preferred in Math, Computer Science, or related discipline
- Experience in designing and developing solutions using collaborative filtering, classification, clustering, and topic modeling
- Knowledge of scalable distributed systems and service oriented architecture
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and innovate and simplify
- Believes that there is no one-fit-all solution to all ML problems but will rather use the right tool for the right job, be it a bayesian method, neural networks or anything else in between
- Excellent analytical skills
