Research Specialist

Superb research opportunity to gain exposure to a prestigious organization and hone your skills in an international business research environment. We are looking for an experienced research professional with strong consulting-style interpersonal skills to be the “go-to” expert on the Financial Services sector, particularly developing a focus on the Banking and Capital markets industries.  

In particular, the post holder will be responsible for driving a programme of research which will be used principally to develop points of view and to focus our client's expertise in offering expert solutions to financial institutions. You will be part of an expert network, operating globally, so will be expected to manage complex projects, with stakeholders in different locations and complementary knowledge and skill-sets. You will have an active involvement in the production of Thought Leadership on the sector and you will demonstrate abilities to report on emerging trends in the Financial Services space.  

Core skill sets for the role are: Banking industry knowledge that covers, including an understanding of back office functions and processes;  Ability to scope and deliver on research projects and to use a wide range of research techniques; Hold macro and microeconomic standpoints, and an understanding of political and regulatory landscapes; Understanding of competitive landscape and emerging opportunities for banking business; Analytical skills to interpret research and relate it to the Firm's business; A clear dedication to strategic research as a business function.

Applicants from a range of backgrounds are welcome; you could have worked as an analyst in a banking institution, or come from Equity research or have worked as a journalist or consultant. You may have been in banking operations itself but relish research and a role as a resourceful strategic research practitioner.
