Research Abstract
Job Summary:
An exciting opportunity exists for a Research Technician to join a HHMI laboratory at Yale University. The laboratory studies the temporal and spatial mechanisms involved in bacterial multiplication using the highly tractable bacterial models Escherichia coli, Caulobacter crescentus.and Salmonella.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Perform independent research
- Participate to laboratory meetings
- Order supplies and reagents for laboratory
- Maintain lab equipment and databases
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience with bacterial and molecular biology techniques (bacterial cultures, PCR, agarose gels, cloning)
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and communication skills
- Experience with PC computers and databases
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
