Researcher in Security and Safety Modelling (f/m) Job in Wien 1220
We are seeking a researcher with formal education in electrical engineering or computer science and expertise/interest in safety and security mechanisms and design processes for embedded systems. The research addresses problems of interrelationships between security and safety mechanisms, functional modelling of communication systems components including fault modelling and monitoring. The research will be in cooperation with Austrian and international partners both from academia and industry.
Your responsibilities:
- Design and evaluation of security and safety-oriented dependability mechanisms for embedded systems
- Modelling of building blocks for secure and dependable systems including communication subsystems
- Construction of use case related fault models and monitoring mechanisms for fault detection
- Implementation of solutions in lab prototypes and field tests
- Active pursuit of a PhD
- Publications of results in scientific conferences and journals and contribution to research proposal writing
- Collaboration within an European research project as well as coordination and cooperation with other European research initiatives in the security and safety area
Qualifications:
- Dipl.-Ing. or MSc degree in a relevant field (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering)
- Working experience with C, C++, LINUX is an advantage
- Ability to combine theoretical reasoning with practical design and experimentations
- Ability to integrate in a multinational research team
- Fluency in English, readiness to acquire German language skills
The minimum salary according to the collective agreement for this position is € 29.610,-- gross/year. An additional payment depending on qualifications and competencies is possible.
