Essential Job Functions
- Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel.
- Conducts primary source research by interviewing market research analysts and (internal and external) subject matter experts and gathers information from associations, publishers, federal government agencies and other coporate/academic institutions
- Evaluates costs, justifies, recommends and implements new products, services and/or resources to meet company marketing objectives. Recommends approach and implements products and/or services as approved.
- Conducts internal and external research for client engagements, new business and proposal development and practice development, presentations, papers, etc. Performs in-depth analysis, integration of point of views and develops conclusion in support of research.
- Provides ongoing monitoring of competitors, industry events and technologies. Shares information with appropriate analysts and/or end users; adjusts research and/or approach as appropriate.
- Supports and assists in developing primary and secondary research skills in the team.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Master's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Master's degree in library science, information science, communications, general business or related field preferred
- Eight or more years of research or librarian experience
- Experience working with company used database and statistical software
- Experience working with research methodologies
- Experience working with the technology industry
- Experience working with business and industry resources

- Strong interpersonal skills to gather information and to communicate with employees and to interact with and focus on customers
- Strong organization skills to balance and prioritize work
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong business primary source research skills including interviewing market research analysts and subject matter expertsu and secondary source research skills using such sources as Factiva, Lexis Nexis, Dialog, Gartner, IDC, etc.
- Leadership skills to guide and mentor the work of less experienced personnel
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability and desire to actively pursue learning opportunities in the research field
- Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
