RESIDENT

Assists the Department of Pharmacy and the staff pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical care. Enhances the experiential learning experience and acquires the required hours for licensure. Responsibilities Assist the Registered Pharmacist in all components of the distributive and clinical pharmacy functions. Weigh, measure and mix ingredients, compounding and preparing medications, emulsions, liquids, powders, and ointments, using such equipment as graduates, balance, mortars, pestles, and funnels. Review, maintain, and screen patient medication records for allergies, drug interactions, and therapeutics duplications while processing medication orders. Fill prescriptions from bulk stock; adhere to all federal and state regulatory requirements. Receive, price, and stocks orders from wholesalers and manufacturers. File physician orders and controlled substance record forms as required. Utilize all available technologies in providing pharmaceutical care (i.e., computers systems and databases, Acu-Dose, Robot-Rx, pneumatic tube system, etc). Basic Qualifications Completion of an ACPE accredited college of pharmacy or university required. Licensure/Certifications Graduate Med.
