HEARTH’s mission is to provide a progression of supportive services and housing that empowers families to become independent, self-sufficient and adequately housed. Also to foster low income housing opportunities to prevent homelessness and encourage safe, affordable housing.
We provide transitional and permanent housing to homeless women with children. This position would be located in Greentree.
RESIDENT MANAGER - Part Time Evening/Weekend Hours, some flexibility available
Salary Range - $10-$12/hour
Duties Responsibilities:
1. Provides emergency support while on duty. Contact Direct Services Coordinator if emergency intervention is needed.
2. Responsible for enforcing the House Rules and if an infraction occurs, reporting this information to the Direct Services Coordinator.
3. Responsible for handling any crisis that might occur while on duty.
4. Responsible for informing the maintenance person of any problems that need to be addressed.
5. Participate in community meetings with program participants and/or responsible for childcare during Monday night meetings.
6. Inspect each apartment every night between 9 and 11 pm as follows:
a. Patrol the building upon arrival. Enter any violations into log. (Children in hall, toys in hall, etc.) Major violations such as unallowed guests, alcohol, violence, etc. need dealt with according to policies and reported to the Direct Services Coordinator.
b. Check program participants’ apartments for unpermitted guests, curfew violations, or other rule violations.
c. Check the building again before leaving. Same as above. Leave the log in the Direct Services Coordinator’s Office.
7. Document results of nightly building patrol.
8. Convey program participant needs to Direct Services Coordinator.
9. Monitor security measures and report any issues as necessary.
10. Perform apartment inspections twice per month.
11. Perform other duties as required by the Executive Director.
Qualifications:
1. Associates Degree in Social Work or equivalent experience.
2. Individual must be mature and capable of functioning securely and autonomously while on duty.
3. Experience in dealing with crisis situations preferred.
4. Sensitivity and awareness of the needs of single parent families; the ability to relate well to children and communicate effectively.
5. Ability and willingness to enforce program rules and consequences.
6. Ability to work as part of a team.
