Position Description:
o Act as the responsible engineer for communication repeater sub-assembly engineering.
o As the project lead, perform design and development for a major project; implement all sub-system and system requirements into the design. Identify, analyze, and solve technical problems.
o Manage the project’s technical issues, cost, and schedule; determine key milestones and a plan for completing work on time; set priorities for the team.
o Heavy PROE use is required, mainly working in large assemblies with some part design, and harness routing.
o Prepare and deliver briefings or written reports to management, program manager, and/or customer which identify clearly any technical issues, progress reporting, or which document risk .
o Support manufacturing team during integration of the repeater payload, disposition non-conformances, determine corrective actions, and design for manufacturability.
o Fulfill project objectives with very limited supervision, working on broad assignments; as project lead provide functional guidance to personnel assigned to assist.

Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, a related discipline or equivalent experience.
Five years of related work experience.
Three years with MS degree, or, with a Ph. D., some related work experience is desirable
Strong PROE background required, must have experience working on large assemblies or on complicated mechanical systems.
Strong schedule management abilities are needed.
Experience as a Lead Engineer or Responsible Engineer is desired.
