Assistant Manager

The Assistant Manager plays a vital role in the day-to-day operation of the restaurant. The AM is expected to assist the GM with policy enforcement and staff discipline, cost control, inventory management, customer service and service concerns and aid in the functioning, productivity and training of all staff members.  AMs assist with the hiring, orientation and disciplining of the hourly staff, ensure company service standards are being met or exceeded, assist in the continued education and training of the staff, ensure that all products – food or bar related – are being served to company specifications consistently, and aid in maintaining all food, bar and labor costs to the set parameters.  Assistant managers are the extra eyes and ears of the GM and need to have a good working relationship with all members of the management team and hourly staff.  Assistant Managers report directly to the GM of their store.

 

Assistant Manger responsibilities include but are not limited to:

o        Schedule all FOH labor within set labor budgets

o        Ensure proper stock rotation, service and adequate beer knowledge with all staff members

o        The cleanliness, sanitation and organization of the bar and service areas

o        Effective open and closing functions for the restaurant

o        Knowledge and enforcement of all company policies and procedures

o        Complete knowledge of order entry, manager and back-office POSI functions

o        Ensure proper orientation and training of all staff members

o        Assist the management team with cost control in all areas of operation; beer, liquor wine, labor, operational building repair and maintenance

o        Assist with the completion of orders requisitions

o        All cash credit card handling

o        Functional in all aspects of operation: bar, server, kitchen, busser, host and management

o        Assist with the planning and organization of special event and functions

o        Full understanding of ACHD safety and sanitation guidelines and enforcement of all policies and procedures in regards to the proper handling of all food beverage products
