Position Summary: Provides customer service at Boot Barn standards by performing the following duties and responsibilities. The ASM also manages the retail store by performing the following duties personally or through direct reports. Supervises and coordinates activities of other employees in the store.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the ability to demonstrate competency in the following areas:
• Must maintain company standards for customer service measurable goals including items per sale, sales per hour, average dollar sale, customer shop report, and customer information capture rate.
• Open and close the store, complete nightly paperwork as needed; ensure management coverage on floor at all times when store is opened.
• Lock and secure store at closing time.
• Assign duties to all direct reports.
• Assist Sales Makers in completing difficult sales as needed.
• Follow company policy for attendance.
• Greet customers and ascertain each customer's wants or needs.
• Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs and desires.
• Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions.
• Assist customers when they try on or fit merchandise.
• Practice sales techniques with each customer to ensure Boot Barn standards for customer service are met.
• Meet and exceed sales goals including sales per hour, items per transaction, and average dollar sale.
• Understand and follow policies regarding payment, exchanges, and security practices.
• Able to operate POS terminal including compute sales prices, total purchases and receive and process cash or credit payment.
• Maintain records related to sales.
• Maintain company standard for customer data capture.
• Watch for and recognize security risks and thefts, and know how to prevent and/or handle these situations.
• Answer questions regarding the store and merchandise.
• Describe merchandise and explain use, operation, and care of merchandise to customers.
• Ticket, arrange and display merchandise to promote sales.
• Place internet orders, special orders or call other stores to find desired items.
• Demonstrate use or operation of merchandise.
• Stock merchandise.
• Set up advertising displays or arranges merchandise on counters or tables to promote sales.
• Cleaning duties as required.
• Know sales plan for the store and communicate and motivate direct reports to meet and exceed sales plan.
• Continually motivate direct reports to ensure customers are receiving excellent service.
• Holds direct reports accountable through Performance Improvement Report process when performance fails to meet company standards.
• Assign duties to workers and make schedules to provide ample coverage as well as ensure coverage for break periods, lunches, vacations and other absences.
• Manage store payroll goals and results.
• Place special order merchandise and order supplies from the corporate office.
• Record delivery of merchandise, compare record with merchandise ordered, and report discrepancies to control costs and maintain correct inventory levels.
• Act as the primary trainer of direct reports in store policies, department procedures, product knowledge, and job duties.
• Ensure all employees complete the 14-day training program.
• Competently process Daily, Weekly and Monthly paperwork including spreadsheets.
• Understand job details of the ICS and can function in the role of ICS as needed.
• Recommend additions to or deletions of merchandise to be sold in store to corporate buyers.
• Prepare and assist in store inventory.
• Assist with off-property events as needed.
• Coordinate sales promotions and prepare or direct workers preparing merchandise displays and advertising copy.
• Ensure proper department layout, merchandise, and advertising display.
• Ensure accurate timekeeping and transmission of hours.
• All other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Manage the Sales Makers, ICS and 3rd Key Holders, Managers in Training and Assistant Managers. Responsible for overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems for employees and customers.

·         Required Experience
• High School Diploma or GED; some college is nice to have
• 1 to 2 years of experience in a fast-paced work environment.
• Must be PC Savvy: MS Office, Excel.
