Retail Banking, AVP Performance & Planning Business Partner
Role Description:
The organisation run a balance sheet of under £60bn Client Deposits and Loans and this role will support their banking and credit businesses as the key finance face-off. This person will provide value-add analysis to their performance, also doing the planning, budgeting and forecasting for the business unit. Emphasis will be on performance and risksof the business and ultimately its growth.
• PERFORMANCE REPORTING AND ANALYSIS
The role holder will use the core suite of daily, weekly and monthly management information (MI) that is produced centrally to review and draw conclusions from analysing that MI and use it as a basis for ad-hoc analysis. The MI will need to be presented at business management meetings in a concise manner, providing insight into performance trends and drivers.
• BUDGETING AND FORECASTING
Budgeting and forecasting is one of the key responsibilities of the team. The annual budget process is an intensive process to determine the following year's plans, but critically, this rolls into the regular weekly and monthly forecasting processes to ensure the business remain on track to their full year commitments. A key part of this role will be to face off to the business to prepare and challenge forecasts and budgets to ensure that the drivers of performance are clear, well understood and tracked.
• DECISION SUPPORT
The role holder will be able to develop sound financial models to support decision making as a vital part of the role, as a large element of the role will be ad hoc decision support analysis, which my relate to specific products or projects within the balance sheet product areas or the overall balance sheet business.
• CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
The role holders will seek to improve existing processes to drive out efficiencies and synergies with other finance teams.
Who We're Looking For:
• Management of 1 or 2 persons (based locally and off-shore).
• Able to manage senior stakeholders - namely: finance business partners, heads of credit and finance businesses, treasury.
• Essential to have Strong Excel and PowerPoint, Ideally to have SAP/BW too.
• Essential a CIMA qualified accountant or possibly ACA.
• Ideally Retail Banking background or at minimum a knowledge of Transaction Banking (i.e. Corporate Banking or Retail Banking revenue).
