Retail Business Analyst / Data Analyst Job in London, London Uk
Retail Business Analyst / Data Analyst
Leading Food Retailer, London
£21,000 basic salary plus excellent benefits
12 month temporary contract
We're looking for a Retail Business Analyst to work for one of the UK's leading and most well known food retailers.
Covering the entire London region, you will support the Retail Team in designing and implementing optimal staffing plans for the region's shops, using the company's bespoke workforce management system.
You will primarily be responsible for analysing historical retail data and using the system to make accurate projections on future activity and manpower requirements. You will extract maximum value from the system reports to provide information highlighting how staff rotas can be developed to ensure they have the right number of people, in the right place, at the right time, in as cost effective and efficient manner as possible.
You will analyse and measure every step of the shop operation, identifying any bottlenecks and obstacles which will prevent shops achieving target staff plans and recommending appropriate action to the retail team. The information you provide will give an invaluable insight as to how shop wage targets can be met without compromising on customer service, so it's vital that you get your analysis right.
What makes this role unique is that you will also need to regularly visit the shops throughout the region viewing working practices first hand, identifying inefficient ways of working and ultimately recommending workable staffing solutions.
This is where your excellent influencing and communication skills come into play, along with your operational retail experience. All of your recommendations to the Retail Team will be based on practical advice and knowledge making you a credible support resource. It will be down to you to convince the team that your plans should be carried out.
We're looking for someone that has 3-5 years relevant experience in a retail led environment. As mentioned earlier, you will possess excellent communication and rapport building skills, and the ability to influence people at all levels. You will need to enthusiastically educate an audience of non-analysts so being able to get your message across effectively is crucial. You will have an analytical mind, be highly numerate and will be an excellent problem solver, and will be used to working in a team.
It is absolutely essential that you have prior retail experience, good IT skills and previous experience of workforce planning systems.
