Overview
The Retail Collector is the link between our Retail customers, Retail Sales and Finance. The purpose of the role is to collect money from our customers and ensure that customers make payments as agreed in line with Micro P’s trading terms
Key Responsibilities:
· Collecting monies from Micro-P’s customer base of retail customers
· Producing consolidated invoices for Micro-P’s customer base of retail customers
· Dealing with customer queries, including resolving customer disputes, raising credit notes, returns, price discrepancies, carriage queries and shortages / lost in transit
· Liaising with Vendors, Commercial, and Sales to identify and proactively manage Micro-P’s 2 Tier Pass Through procedure, including rebates, SOA, and price protection
· Reconciling orders to retail customers self- bill and raising VAT / Credit documentation
· Understanding and applying Micro-P’s Credit and Collections Policies, and mitigating risk to the business
· Allocating monies from Micro-P’s customer base of retail customers and ensuring all remittance advice has been received
· Approving customer orders based on available credit and managing orders whilst at credit approval stage
· Communicating with Micro-P’s retail base of customer, including making / receiving telephone calls, sending dunning letters and managing email traffic
· Establishing, developing and maintaining relationships with Micro-P’s retail base of customer
· Building strong relationships with stakeholders in Sales, Commercial, Customer Service and Accounts Payable to ensure that communications and relations between the departments are effective
· Maintaining Service Level Agreements with both external and internal customers
· Managing the Oracle database and ensuring all customer contact details are correct and up to date
· Any other duties deemed appropriate for the department
Essential Requirements:
· A proven track record of building relationships as a Credit Controller or in a similar role.
· Ability to influence and negotiate at all levels in order to collect monies owed to Micro-P
· Attention to detail – able to analyse and interpret data and present back to a varied audience, including Corporate
· Organisation skills – able to plan and prioritise time to deal with conflicting priorities
· Ability to understand retailers, look for solutions and make decisions
· Computer literate, with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
· Willingness to travel to all Micro P offices / retail customers as required

· Proven experience of achievement in a target driven environment
· Willingness to progress professionally into a wider Credit Control role
