Retail / Commercial Banking Credit Risk Consultant

This is a chance to be part of well established and regarded team in the market where you will get direct access to the senior management of the business and work directly with all levels in client organisations to deliver various projects within the credit risk space.

There will be plenty of opportunity to attend meetings from initial pitch through the design and sign-off phase and to share your opinions on the best way to structure solutions for your clients. You will have the chance to develop your own contact networks and will be given the opportunity to start generating your own leads / deals as soon as you are ready, without onerous targets from day 1.

Focus:

*Delivery of client engagements - either specific credit risk assignments, or as part of a wider, multi-disciplinary project

*Drafting reports and making presentations to clients

*Marketing and raising the profile of the firm through various initiatives: networking events, external conferences, publications, training events etc

*Focussed on the key areas of what is a fast changing environment, ensuring knowledge and skills are up to scratch and able to identify marketing opportunities

*Support senior management efforts in developing and winning new business - assisting with proposals with both new and existing clients

Experience and Background:

*Quantitative degree (Mathematics, Physics, Economics etc)

*Previous experience working with a financial services firm (regulator, bank, commodities firm, consultancy) with strong exposure to banking and credit risk regulation and procedures

*Strong practical and theoretical knowledge of risk (Credit, Operational, Liquidity, overall governance etc) within a the banking environment

*Strong Credit Risk modelling and stress testing skills

*Ability to develop credit risk policies, governance frameworks and reporting processes

*Adaptable with strong communication skills (particularly well developed report writing and presentation skills) and ability to influence senior stakeholders (both internal and external)

*Ability to lead and develop propositions and manage engagements

Additionally a post-graduate degree in a mathematical / quantitative subject would be preferred but is not essential.
