Retail Manager
Airgas, Inc. is the largest U.S. distributor of industrial, medical and specialty gases, welding, safety and related products. Airgas Great Lakes has an excellent opportunity for a Retail Manager in the SW Columbus, OH area.
We are searching for an individual who will be responsible for managing a fast-paced retail branch operation in our Columbus, OH market. Duties will include a variety of branch administrative work, regular interaction with sales, customers, other retail branches, operations, customer service and other key functional areas to ensure delivery of customer product. Assist customers with equipment set-up or demonstrations as needed. Additionally this role will manage and monitor store inventory and properly merchandise goods in the retail branch/store. This position is responsible for all critical branch issues (sales, budgets, A/R, competitor information, sales forecast, employee training development, as well as safety and compliance).
Qualified candidates are required to have:
- Minimum High School Diploma/GED; Associates or Bachelors Degree in Business/Retail Sales a plus
- 2-4 years retail sales / customer service experience, preferably in an industrial retail environment and in a management role; retail industrial sales experience a plus
-Previous direct supervisory or lead experience preferred
- Significant attention to detail (as it relates to order entry, data research, audits, employee costs, etc.)
- Solid/moderate computer knowledge with working knowledge in Microsoft Office w/SAP experience preferred
- Able to move/lift items 25-75 lbs. on a regular basis
The ideal candidate will be an organized self-starter who is able to perform multiple tasks with varied deadlines and little supervision and prefers a hands-on" approach to their work. In addition, an ideal candidate would have solid working knowledge of the industrial gas and/or welding business. The candidate must have a proven capability to deliver superior sales results at a high customer service level.
