General Purpose:
 
Manage overall store operations and personnel in order to maximize sales and profitability.   Promote a safe work environment with quality customer service.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
 
1. Human Resources/Personnel
•Responsible for the hiring process for all hourly candidates, which includes sourcing and recruitment, interviewing and selection.  Ensures any references, pre-employment assessments or screens are completed.
•New hire on-boarding, orientation, and paperwork completion.
•Staffing the store by creating a weekly schedule based on budgeted payroll for the store.
•Trains all employees on core job requirements and ongoing development of all staff
•Manages all employees fairly and consistently while holding them accountable for their performance. Administers coaching and corrective documentation to improve performance as well as recognizing positive contributions.
•Consults with supervisor regarding appropriate disciplinary procedures up to and including terminations of employment
•Performance reviews and wage increases in accordance with company standards
•Develops  promotable employees for their location and district
 
2. Inventory Control
•Ordering of products from vendors
•Training and delegation of ordering functions as judged appropriate to assistant manager(s) and associates
•Taking corrective action to prevent or resolve inventory losses caused by employee theft, vendor theft, drive-offs and accounting errors.
 
3. Safety/ Security/ Compliance  
•Restricted sales to minors of products such as tobacco, lottery, etc…
•Restricting access to storage areas, locking of back room, Kiosk, and other office areas
•Securing of funds at the register and in safe
•Security camera monitoring system operational at all times
•Shift change and Vendor check-in procedures
•Shrink/ Robbery prevention procedures
 
4. Merchandizing/ Marketing
•Responsible for Plan-o-Gram execution
•Create and set up attractive displays
•Post promotional materials such as window signs, banners, etc…
•Restocks cigarette, chips, soda and other display items
•Gas and merchandise surveys
•Ensure correct pricing of product
•Order promotional merchandise to insure that advertised specials are available.
•Inform all staff of specials to insure that advertised items are kept fully stocked
 
5. Operations
•Ensure daily reporting is accurate and on-time (Portal)
•Maintenance and upkeep of gasoline equipment and facility
•Insuring compliance of all employees to dress code policy
•Adhering to contract agreements
•Providing a positive, professional role model for the staff
•Complying with all laws, rules, regulations and policies
•Ensuring the store is open during operating hours
•Maintenance and upkeep of gasoline equipment and facility
 
6. Customer Service
•Resolves customer complaints and provides exceptional service.
•Assists customers with gasoline purchases and provides hands-on direction and service at the pumps when required.
 
7. Financial
•Responsible for overall profitability of the location, which include those components such as sales, gross margin, shrink, payroll, expenses, etc….
•Daily bank deposits of receipts at assigned bank branch. Pickup of deposit slips at the bank daily. Daily reporting of all sales, expenses, competitive price checks and deposits.
•Daily inspection and reporting of EPA requirements for gasoline
•As needed submission of paperwork, such as benefits enrollment, competitive price checks, accident
reports, etc …
•Maintenance of orderly, accurate, secure and up to date records.
 
8. Maintenance
•Delegation of tasks such as dusting, cleaning, mopping, sweeping, parking lot maintenance, rubbish
removal both inside and outside the store.
•Performing cleaning and maintenance tasks as required.
•Immediate reporting of broken, damaged or non-functioning equipment, including, but not limited to
gasoline pumps, credit card equipment, coolers, computers and fax machines to the corporate office.
 
9. Other including:
•Other duties as assigned or required
