Sales Manager Retail Mortgage Lending
 
Position Description:
The role of the GMAC Retail Sales Manager is to represent GMAC Mortgage and to assist in the growth and management of a team of Retail Loan Officers.  The Sales Manager will develop and maintain existing client relationships as well as identify and engage potential customers.  This role reports directly to the Area Sales Manager.
 
Principal Accountabilities:
·         Must have experience working with the Area Sales Manager and other management staff in recruiting and building a team of highly productive Retail Loan Officers who are representing GMAC Mortgage to real estate agents, builders and other industry customer referral sources for increased monthly production results
·         Promote loans through public contact and GMAC affiliates
·         Develop relationships with new and current Realtors, builders and borrowers to promote continuous business
·         Interview and pre-qualify prospective borrowers
·         Advise borrowers of lock-in policy and ensure lock requests are completed accurately
·         Inform borrowers and related parties of loan options, market conditions, documents and other requirements needed to close the loan
·         Review new loan guidelines, programs, updates and changes
·         Assist in the hiring, training and development of Loan Officers
·         THE SALES MANAGER MUST BE SAFE ACT COMPLIANT AND A LICENSED LOAN ORIGINATOR IN THE STATE IN WHICH LOANS ARE BEING ORIGINATED
Position Requirements:
·         Relocation is not authorized for this position. Must be located within the County of the Market in which this job is being offered
 
Work Experience:
·         Must have a minimum of 3-5 years consistent Retail Mortgage Loan Origination / mortgage banking experience
·         Must have a minimum of 1-2 years Retail Mortgage sales management / mortgage banking experience; including sales and business development
·         Must have a minimum of 1-2 years recruiting and managing a minimum team of 3-5 Retail Loan Officers
·         Must show proven results in top producer retention as well as the action plan to support and develop sphere of influence in the market territory for the individual Loan Officer book of business and business development for the branch/company
·         Experience must include the following Retail Loan Origination / sales experience:
·         Must have a current book of business/ self sourced business leads
·         Must have proven Retail mortgage production exceeding 12 million annually and a current pipeline
·         Must have proven loan origination documented from the last 2 years consecutively
·         Proven Retail mortgage sales management track record
·         Excellent math, analytical and time management skills
·         Excellent written, verbal and listening skills
·         Strong interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor
 
Technical Competencies:
·         Knowledge of PC Environments to include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
·         Knowledge of web enabled applications
·         Basic ability to analyze financials and business plans

Work Environment:
·         40-60% of travel could be required based on region

Education:
·         Education: High school diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred
