Retail Portfolio Risk Manager | Malaysia | Selby Jennings

The Mid Level Portfolio Risk Manager will report to and work very closely with the Head of Risk to play a key role and manage the Bank’s unsecured portfolio, while assisting in the process of putting profitable business on the Bank’s books.
What the Role Involves
- Play a key role in managing the unsecured portfolio;
- Assist in developing Retail Banking and Wealth Management (RBWM) unsecured risk management function;
- Analyze portfolio performance via available and ad-hoc reports to identify portfolio risk and optimizing credit knowledge for the growth of the portfolio with acceptable risk;-
- Implementation of policy for retail lending products for Singapore branch. This would include working with Business group to benchmark product structure and risk management practices to other banks in Singapore.
- Ensure that the policies meet regulatory requirement at Singapore as well as policy framework of Head office of the Bank
- Coordinate with Credit Bureau of Singapore as well as with Operations team of the branch to set up processes and back-end systems for data downloading and reporting requirement
- Assess and Approve proposals and credit underwriting in accordance with policy
- Working closely and effectively with local and regional team to achieve local business objective whilst abiding by the functional direction;
Ideal Candidate
- Educated to degree and/or appropriate professional qualification level.
- Experience in analyzing credit risks of all types, with particular emphasis on emerging markets.
- A tertiary degree with at least 5 – 8 years related working experience in banking industry preferably in credit policy and approval
- CCP (Certified Credit Professional) qualification preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good team skills, in particular the ability to work closely with the business areas while retaining independence
